In case you’re wondering what the hell is Artcore:

Artcore

Ibanez first introduced the music world to Artcore in 2002, and it has since captured the attention of many musicians 10 years till now. And this is not a surprise as the Artcore exhibits a great tone and tuning sustainability. As Ibanez simply puts it: “Musicians can find the purity of an old school style jazz-box to a hybrid semi-hollow rocker. ” It features easier access to higher notes, an Art-st Bridge that provides a more stable tuning, and Infinity R pickups that, as Ibanez claims, “feature warm, balanced articulation and excellent response for various music genres.”

Frequently Asked Questions

A lot of people wondered what the difference is between this AS53 and the AM53. While it’s true that they are similar in a lot of aspects, the AM53 is slightly shorter than the AS53, making it more suitable for smaller statures. This guitar is great for blues, rock, and jazz, as far as genre is concerned.

Reviews

The reviews were positive and satisfactory. More specifically, the buyers were satisfied with the AS53’s quality compared to its price, which is a good deal for a hollow-body. The comments on the pickups hinted that they are quite standard, but you can have a variety of tone options if you have a good amp. Also, a lot claimed that it sounds decent acoustically and without any amplifications. As for the finish, I came across little to no criticism on the finishes of this guitar. In fact, a lot claimed that the images featuring this AS53 is serving it no justice as they don’t show the actual good finish quality that this semi-hollow beholds (good news!).

Price and Rating

The Ibanez AS53 is available in 3 finishes: Brown, Transparent Black, and Transparent Red. The price of the latter, Transparent Red, is slightly lower than the rest of the finishes. The guitar’s price ranges from $296.47 to $299.99 on Amazon. Note, however, that different sellers may have different selling price.

As far as the rating goes, the Ibanez AS53 has averaged a rating of 4.4 out of 5 on Amazon. From my point of view, I give it a rating of 4.8. I know, I’m being lame right now. But I would have given it a full score had Ibanez given this guitar more finish options.
